Chicago newborn photos
This was Rayon’s first photo shoot, and he was such a natural! He is such a sweet, smiley and squeezable baby. It was a joy to spend time with Greg, Ro and their beautiful baby boy.

Kristin and Jason were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Danada House surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers. Their family and friends witnessed these two share their vows, during which a single tear fell from Kristin’s cheek, which her sweet groom gently wiped away.
It was a joy filled day, with tender embraces from their family and friends. When it came time for it, the dj packed the dance floor with tunes that anyone would love wear their shoes out to.
Congrats Kristin and Jason! So happy for you two!
Dominika and Matt were married before their dear friends and family at the gorgeous the Kemper Lakes Golf Course. Dominika spent many hours planning through the day, creating a theme of wine and cigars. The vibrant, colorful flowers were arranged in old cigar boxes, the napkins were tied with corks, empty wine barrels created the entrance before the ceremony, all inspired by their shared love of good food, good wine, and good times! Dominka and Matt are as kind as they are great as planning an amazing wedding. It was such a pleasure capturing their day!
The two met while Dominika managed the residency Matt was living in. She was interested in him for quite sometime, before finally approaching him on her last day on the job. It’s a good thing she did! It wasn’t long before they fell in love and we’re adopting two dogs together!
Congratulations Dom and Matt! I’m so very happy for you!
Vibrant and colorful are immediately what come to mind when I think about Erika and Tem’s cross-cultural wedding. Tem is a Nigerian, so for the couple’s nuptials, they pulled from both her American and his African roots–combining classic traditions from each of their background.
I had such an amazing time documenting this wedding. from the colorful attire, to the energetic dance floor, it was a blast! Tem and Erika are the nicest couple and everyone made me feel like family! What an honor!
Tova and Jason couldn’t have picked a more beautiful day for their engagement session! The weather was perfect. The sun caste beautiful, deep, golden light over Oak Street Beach where we ended their session. It wasn’t a wrap though until I snapped a few pictures of the two of them bearing the still frigid water of Chicago’s Lake Michigan. It’s going to take many months before those temps rise after such a arctic winter!
These Chicago headshot photos were shot underneath the brown line in an alley on the north side. Brenden, a Chicago actor and comedian, fit in perfectly with the rustic urban vibe.
Mayur Gupta is looks very dapper in this Chicago lifestyle photography session on location in his Lake Shore condo. Interested in lifestyle photography? A portrait or headshot session? Contact Rife Ponce Photography at maggie@rifeponcephotography.com
Looking for inspiration for newborn photo ideas? Look no further than this literary themed newborn photo shoot! Derby is the newborn son of friends and past clients, Jaclin and Danny. Jaclin is one of the biggest book lovers I know (her wedding was at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago). It’s only fitting that she introduce Derby to books early. He’ll start with Goodnight Moon and before they know it, be on to Jaclin’s very favorite, The Great Gatsby.
If only teleporters existed in real life, instead of only in science fiction films and books. If they did, I’d be one of the first to invest in their magical power so I could visit these two little ones as often as possible.
Last month my sister gave birth to her second child, Charlotte Thompson, named for our late mother. I was lucky enough to have a wedding booked back in Nebraska the same week Charlotte, aka “Charlie,” was born. What perfect timing! I stayed in town after the wedding to get some quality time in with the family. Of course, I couldn’t keep my camera down. There’s no way I could resist my nephew Reed’s big blue eyes, or Charlie’s perfect button nose. I can’t wait to see them again this weekend!
On a warm, spring day, Anna and Scott, couple of six years, married before friends and family in the beautiful, First Unitarian Church of Omaha, Nebraska with light spilling over them.
The decor was gold, black, and pops of cranberry. An elegant, mid-century modern feel, perfectly suited for the reception location at The Paxton Ballroom.
It was a special pleasure to photograph friends Anna and Scott’s nuptials. They’re such a sweet, grounded couple. I couldn’t be happier to document the day for them. Throughout the day I heard people say how kind, giving, reliable, and fun they are–cherished friends to so many around them. They’re a couple that are great individuals, but even better together! Congrats Anna and Scott!
