Hi hi! I’m Maggie Rife Ponce, photographer and overall keeper of the everyday moments that make for a fuller life.

A little background about me:  I was first introduced to photography as a teenager in the age of film  photography (before it was retro) and darkrooms.  I spent countless hours during high school in my basement developing prints in the silver chemical baths, transfixed by the images slowing appearing like magic. I also grew up clipping photos out of issues from National Geographic,  drawn to frames with striking compositions and lighting, but even more, to the moments captured especially by Sebastio Salgado and David Alan Harvey.

After studying photojournalism at the University of Missouri, I spent some time focusing on this type of work, before settling down in Chicago, where I live with my husband and son.  I now mostly focus on familiesportraits, and wedding photography, but always with a heart for those same elements that captivated me from the start: composition, light, and moment.

I also have a sister Chicago boudoir photography company—Revealed Studios, where I help empower women through beautiful photography.

When I’m not taking pictures, you can find me in the kitchen cooking, working on a handstand, swooning over nature, or reading, hosting a get together with friends.
